A boutique family law firm has opened in Jersey with a principle to provide a holistic approach to family disputes. Myersons, which has opened its doors in Broad Street, has been founded by esteemed advocate Victoria Myerson.
Myersons is based on the expertise of an already well-established team of local advocates: Victoria Myerson, Carly James and Celanne Scally. The trio worked together previously for over seven years under the Appleby brand, where Advocate Myerson was a Partner.
The team set up the new boutique firm in October 2017. Myersons offers a highly specialised service for a full spectrum of clients, with particular expertise in larger and more complex proceedings and divorce.
Myersons offer professional services on all areas of family law including divorce and ancillary relief, pre and post nuptial agreements and emergency injunctive relief. They also look after matters involving children such as child maintenance, residence, leave to remove and contact disputes.
The new firm takes its responsibilities to clients very seriously and has ingrained an ethos of wellness into its core philosophy. The advocates encourage clients to seek counselling, engage in mindfulness and other health support services whilst working through their family cases.
The new business is built on the strong reputation of its advocates who have decades of combined legal practice experience. Advocate Myerson has worked on some of the most significant matrimonial proceedings in Jersey and is considered a formidable court room advocate and skilled tactician. She is also the Vice Chairman of the Jersey Family Law Association. Advocate James has 12 years’ experience and is heralded for her negotiation skills, robust advice and empathetic rapport with clients. She is also the current Chair of Relate – the relationship support charity. Advocate Scally is known for her approachable style and
client focused vision. She holds a Master’s degree in philosophy and is renowned for her lateral thinking and academic prowess.
The firm has been set up in discreet offices at 4 Broad Street; a central location for both clients and the Court.
Victoria Myerson, Advocate, Myersons, says:
‘We identified a gap in the market for a very specialised family law firm based on expertise and experience and delivering on complex cases. We are not a high-street firm, we are a boutique offering and our independence affords us the opportunity to work in a completely client focused way.
Over my career, I have seen the stress and impact that family disputes can have on clients’ emotional and physical wellbeing and we are dedicated as a business to ensuring cases are dealt with efficiently and sensitively whilst encouraging clients to access therapeutic and wellness support as well. We are not fee focused, we are family focused and I strongly believe that we have the best team in the Island to help clients navigate their disputes.
It’s exciting to launch our new firm in Broad Street; the offices are purposely not corporate and offer the discretion clients desire. Our drive is based on offering the highest standards, remaining people focused and working extraordinarily hard to achieve the best results for our clients.’
